(3'00'' - Milan, Italy)
Directed, written & destroyed by Matteo Campulla
Two artists leave Milan, a city struggling with the first covid-19 infections, for the week of contemporary art fairs in NY. In the same days the situation in Italy worsens day by day: Milan becomes a red zone, the "lockdown" begins and the flights for the return are canceled. Back just in time in a deserted city, after 13 days of quarantine, here is the direct testimony of isolation and artistic work during the covid-19.

...... an unexpected pleasure and a step into the unknown regarding video production during my isolation, the video title is taken from a Joy Division album and my current backdrop listening for its production. The video explores shape, outline, sign and form, drawn from the landscape and architecture. It considers our place within those spaces and the objects that surround us. There is no imitation or direct reference. The response is subtle, personal, intimate and ritualistic. Relevant at this moment when expressions of identity—personal, national, global are so much a part of cultural conversation - often a complex coded linguistic puzzle.

Creating stories inspired by the improvisational performance.
Painting is always in the room, so she couldn't walk into a room, she is
already there. She sings as she feels.

To break the monotony of working from home, Brener and Imara seek the perfect time to party online. They debate sunrise, sunset, choreography and communication at a 3000 mile distance. Fairy lights, window dressings, and wooden floors feature as extras in this ode to an online celebration. Filmed via Zoom in London and New York.

Like a small baby is curious to all new things, a human being is born to want to see what is on the other side of "curtains", obstacles.

A video that focuses on the same piece of furniture set within various scenarios, to echo different situations and states of mind during lockdown.
Act 1 plays with the realm of the surreal, combining different perspectives and sounds. A reflection on the boundaries between inside and outside.
Act 2 builds up image density within a spatially minimal context. A distilled reflection on the draw of physical activity in the natural environment.
Act 3 presents a dreamlike atmosphere of space and scale in flux. A meditative reflection on absence and presence within a single object.-

During the self-isolation everyone has an imaginary attempt to play or simulate movement of your personality in different locations.
In case of producing basic instinct at the same time you are on the bed and immediately transported to the shore of the bay and back. And this
is how our memory with simple wishes plays in reverse direction.-

ephemereye Great! Looks good. Also try our 'portfolio feature', and create your page on ephemereye.art http://ephemereye.art/. It's very easy. Just click 'sign in/sign up' and follow the screens. It's good for videos and your story, but we'll also integrate instagram very soon.
